Your Web Browser is Sending a WWW-Authenticate Header Field That the Web Server is not Configured to Accept.
Q: I am trying to connect to MS Project Server 2003 using the Enterprise Options in MS Project 2003. When I try to test the connection I get the following message:

“You are not authorized to view this page.”
“You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied because your Web browser is sending a WWW-Authenticate header field that the Web server is not configured to accept.”

A: This should solve your problem:

1. On your project server, go to IIS, and under Default Web Site select ProjectServer’s website.
2. Select ISAPI folder in ProjectServer’s site.
3. Right Click on “PJDBCOMM.DLL” and select “Properties”.
4. In File Security tab click “Authentication and access control”.
5. NOW TWO THINGS:
5.1 First see if “Integrated Windows Authentication” is checked or not. If not, then check it and restart IIS and check if the error still exists. If this solves your problem, then don’t do the next step.
5.2 If “Integrated Windows Authentication” was already checked, then Check “Enable Anonymous Access”, and click OK. Restart IIS, and then check for your error.
